Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Janet Lyn Turner, 53. Ms. Turner, a long-time resident of Church Point, died Wednesday morning, January 31 at her mother's home in Church Point. Father Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the services with Entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include her mother, Dianne Comeaux Higginbotham and her step-grandmother, Bertha Higginbotham, both of Church Point; the father of her children, Lane Cormier of Opelousas, LA; her sons, Brock Cormier and wife Emily of Lewisburg, LA and Cody Cormier and wife Halie of Church Point; her grandchildren: Hudson, Jett, Ella, Blair, Wes, Gavin and Maddie Cormier; her sisters: Penny Leger and husband Randy, Melissa Deshotel and husband Andre and Christie Darby and husband Brian, all of Church Point and her brothers: Keith Turner and wife Wendy and Troy Higginbotham and wife Christi, all of Church Point. She was preceded in death by her father, Carol Turner and her stepfather, Randall Higginbotham.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from11: 00 AM until 10:00 PM on Thursday, February 1 and continue from 8:00 AM Friday until the time of services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 6:00 PM Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Pallbearers will be Kale Higginbotham, Tyler Elliott, Michael Berzas, Randy Elliott, Jr., Matthew Turner, Steven Leger, Jr., Kanon Weber, and Brody Stepp. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Leger and Tristan Turner.
A loving mother and grandmother, Ms. Turner was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA (337) 684-5488.
