Janet Louise Upp

Janet Louise Upp, 86 passed peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Arbors at Carroll. She is now reunited with her husband of 64 years, Rodger Lee Upp who passed last July. Janet is survived by daughters Delana (Donald) Vanover of Circleville; Lisa (Jon) Ankrom of Worthington, and Molly Clark and Dave Wright of Beavercreek. Janet was blessed with six grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Nicholas (Amanda) Upp, Mackenzie, Spencer and Eloise of Canton; Elizabeth (Blake) Adkins of Cleveland; Sam (Rosie) Ankrom, Annie of Grove City; Steven (Ashley) Clark, Noah and Paisely of Summerville, SC; Sarah Clark of Centerville; and Grace Clark of Beavercreek. She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Minnie (Blum) Nutter and her sister, Doris Martin.
Janet graduated from Lancaster High School in 1955. Until recent years, she was still active in LHS class events and reunions. She was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she served on many committees, taught Sunday school and vacation bible school, and was a member of the choir.
Janet was a homemaker who spent many hours sewing for her three young daughters. Dinner was on the table every evening at 5:30 sharp. After raising their daughters, Janet worked for a few years at Evans Precision and as a bank teller before deciding to stay home and babysit her first grandchild. She was an avid cross-stitcher and crafter and loved working in her flowerbeds. In later years she made hundreds of candlestick lampshades every week for a local vendor.

A funeral service will take place at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. on Wed. June 7th, 2023 at 11AM. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
