Janet C. Zinn

Janet C. Zinn, 91, of Hanover, PA, entered into God eternal care on this Halloween, October 31, 2025, after a 3 year stay at SpiriTrust Lutheran, the Village at Utz Terrace, Hanover.
Janet was born in Hanover, PA on July 7, 1934. She was the beloved daughter of Clair F. and Grace Neiderer Zinn, who were owners of Zinn's Bakery, Commerce St., Hanover. Janet, in spite of many health and life challenges, was a very loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She bore 5 children by the age of 30. Those who knew her, recall her very kind, and loving nature.
Janet was lovingly cared for and supported by her children after her divorce. She lived with her daughter, Jessy Weaver, for 38 years. She loved and connected with nature at her parent's cottage along the Susquehanna River, as well as outings at Codorus Park. She loved animals all her life and cared for her cats and dogs.
Janet is survived by her 5 children, Jackie Lawrence and fiancée, Ron Bonnette, Robert Smith II and wife Robin, Dan Smith and wife, Janice, Jessy Weaver, Joy Nemec and husband Jim, her sisters Kathy Fox, Connie Laity and husband Samuel Laity. She was preceded in death by son-in-law Benedict Lawrence, her 3 brothers; Richard Zinn and wife Janet, Donald Zinn and wife, Kay, Gene Zinn and wife, Marie, and brother-in- law, Charles Fox. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Cremation and burial will be handled privately by Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later time.
The family would like to express deep gratitude and appreciation for those who participated in her end-of-life care. This Village included Dr. Siddiqui, Dr. Chan, the staff at UPMC and York Hospital, the Staff at SpiriTrust Lutheran at Utz Terrace skilled care unit, Hanover, and VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran at Utz Terrace Hanover and or the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove.
