Mrs. Janice Lucille Abney, 82, entered into rest on Friday October 25, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Willie Waydus Abney; parents Henry Preston and Lila Mae New; and brothers, Henry “Sonny” New, Richard Tyrone New.
She is survived by her son, Jody (Suzanne) Abney; grandchildren, Katie (Paul) Whitley, Hannah (Zach) Martin, Daniel (Lexi) Abney, David (Kayla) Abney; great grandchildren, Isabelle Whitley, James Whitley, Henry Martin, Shepherd Martin; dear friend, Donna Pennington; and the best neighbors in the world, Delain and Sharon Woodward.
Janice retired from Thermo-Disc after many years of service and was a life long member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Graniteville, S.C. She was very family oriented and affectionately known as “Mema”. She loved God and her church family. She also loved her dogs over the years. She enjoyed cooking for those she cared for, eating sweet treats, Hardee’s biscuits, and eating out with her family. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
A Funeral Service, celebrating her life will be held at the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday October 30, 2024 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Doug Puckett to officiate. The burial will follow immediately at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at Napier Funeral Home & Crematory.
The family would like to send their sincere thanks to Renal Care North Augusta Dialysis Center, and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Abney.
