Janice Bolin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Springs Funeral Services - Platte on Jan. 5, 2026.
Janice Faye Bolin, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Denver, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness and creativity will endure in the hearts of her family and community.

She was born on December 27, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, to James and Gwendolyn Nordlander. From an early age, she nurtured a love of creativity and care that shaped her life.

In 1977, she married Russell Bolin, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and traditions that continue to this day. She was a devoted mother to her children, and her grandchildren will never forget her quilts stitched with love, the smell of her holiday bakes, and the joy she brought to family gatherings.

Jan was known for her sweet and kind spirit, her caring nature, and her generosity that touched everyone she met. She poured her heart into quilting and sewing, creating pieces that wrapped her family in warmth. Her baking filled the house with comfort, and her art reflected the beauty she saw in the world.

She delighted in family traditions, especially ushering in the holiday season. Christmas music at Thanksgiving was her joyful signal that the holidays had begun, and she took great care in decorating Christmas, turning her home into a place of warmth and wonder.

Everywhere she went, people came away touched, blessed, and inspired – whether in her family, in her Church, or at work. Her presence was a gift, and her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped with love and faith.

She leaves behind a loving family: her children, Scott (Michelle) and Michelle (Vince); six grandchildren, Caella, Antonio, Hannah, Jessa, Sophia, and Jayce; her brother, Kris; her sister, Lilli (Sean); and her niece, Catherine, and nephew, Adam (Colleen).

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gwendolyn; her sister, Patricia; her husband, Russell; and her grandson, Robert.

She lived with a steadfast faith, trusting that all things worked together for good, and her life was marked by love. Love that reflected God's own, love that reminded us we are His. To her family and community, she was a living hymn, an "all in all," pointing hearts toward grace and leaving behind a legacy of hope.

Her life was a tapestry of love, stitched together with generosity, faith, and joy. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit continues in every quilt she made, every tradition she cherished, and every person she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with gratitude and love.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on January 12th, at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on January 13th, at The Springs Funeral Services. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you honor Jan's memory in other meaningful ways, such as donations to First Presbyterian Church, Springs Rescue Mission, Crossfire Ministries, or The Salvation Army.
