Janice Charlton (Larson) 86, of Williams, MN passed away into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 7th, 2025 at the Lakewood Care Center in Baudette, MN.

She was born on August 3rd, 1939 to Elmer & Amy Larson in Roseau, MN the oldest of 2 children. Janice grew up on a farm with her sister, Carol in Malung & graduated from Roseau in 1957 & attended Bemidji State University; she received her degree in Bachelor of Science & pursued her teaching career with some summer classes & started teaching at age 19. Janice taught 3rd grade for 36 years in Williams & Baudette until she retired in May 1994. Janice met Jack, the love of her life in Williams & they were united in marriage on August 19th, 1967.

Janice was very active in the communities both Williams & Baudette over the years. She was involved in the Relay 4 Life (the Can Can Girls, their team), Back Home Days (she coordinated the races at the park), Potato Day (was a judge for the Kiddie Parade), was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Williams (Ladies Aide member, a Eucharistic Minister, she made the banners for the church, helped with the fall dinners, etc.), loved going with the girls to the Warroad Summer Theatre Plays every summer, she enjoyed her oil paintings, watching the birds, her flowers, she loved her cats, Peaches & Viskers & her dog, Benny, she loved bowling both the girls league (traveled all over) & mixed doubles, cross country skiing with her sister Carol & Dorothy, golfing with Dorothy, photography, baking & cooking & shopping, she really enjoyed hosting all their parties & having coffee with everyone that dropped in, enjoyed all their trips that her & Jack went on (Germany, Normandy, Alaska, Bahamas, Hawaii, Branson, Minot (Norsk Hostfest), Nashville, Medora, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Florida).

Janice was always smiling & had a hug & kiss for everyone, was always so happy & lived life to the fullest, was so loved & will be greatly missed. She was a beloved wife & the greatest Aunt in the world & a woman of great faith, prayer & love.

Janice you truly earned your wings, fly high you are finally free. We will all love & miss you each & everyday. She is looking down on all of us from heaven & her light will forever shine bright. We will carry her love with us always. May she rest in peace. "Today & always we celebrate her life."

God bless her memory & beautiful soul, you'll be in our hearts forever. Left to cherish Janice's memory is her loving husband of 58 years, Jack, her sister Carol. Many nieces & nephews & extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Amy Larson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baudette, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Williams, MN.
