Janice O'Neal Hamblin

Janice O'Neal Hamblin, age 84, of London, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
She leaves behind three children, Glenda Foley & husband Bob of Williamsburg, KY, Carole Herron of London, KY, Cheryl Lowry & husband Gary of Berea, KY; two grandchildren, Christopher Joseph & wife Summer of Berea, KY, Maean Pace of Berea, KY; two great grandchildren, Rilan Riley, Dallas Joseph; her special sister-in-law that she loved like a sister, Vickie Tuggle; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn O'Neal & Grant Hamblin; her parents, Victor & Allie Leddington Hale; four siblings, Ina Fay Hale, Elma Lisle Hale, Edsel Hale, Max Hale; one grandson, Jared Glen Herron; and by two sons-in-law, Randy Herron & Paul Pace.
Janice was a retired real estate broker and dedicated many years to her career with Ray Humfleet Real Estate, where she built strong relationships with her clients and colleagues alike.
Janice was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel and served as a sworn deputy, roles that showcased her commitment to both her state and her community. She was also a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ, where she found strength and solace in her faith.
An avid reader, Janice had an impressive library, reflecting her love of books and the joy she found in learning. She was family-oriented and a talented cook who made sure that no one left her home hungry. Her warmth and hospitality were felt by all who knew her.
Janice had a passion for travel and loved to explore new places, especially enjoying cruises. She also cherished the simple pleasures of life, like bird watching with her binoculars and maintaining birdhouses around her home, finding beauty and peace in nature.
Janice's memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate to know her. Her life was marked by generosity, love, and an adventurous spirit that will continue to inspire those who loved her.
Funeral services for Janice O'Neal Hamblin will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Brent Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Blackwater, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 31, 2024 beginning at 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
