Janice “Jan” Sue Denter of Hemlock, Michigan
Passed away peacefully into the arms of our Savior on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare – Harrison. She was 80 years old. Janice Sue Behler was born on October 14, 1943, to the late Oren and Maxine (Albrecht) Behler. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School. Jan married the love of her life, Arnold Louis Denter, on February 6, 1960; he preceded in death on January 18, 2009. The role of her lifetime, one she loved above all others, was to be a loving and devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother. While in her 30’s, she attended MidMichigan Community College in Harrison, where she graduated with her degree as an LPN. As a nurse, Jan worked at Saginaw General Hospital and Fresenius Kidney Care and Dialysis Center in Saginaw. She was a longtime and faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Jan was a gifted and talented quilter, designing and crafting many beautiful quilts over the years. She found peace and joy in spending time with her family. It didn’t matter the type of gathering, if everyone was together Jan’s heart felt full. She also enjoyed all the holidays, especially Christmas, because she could carry on the family traditions of baking cookies, decorating, going to church, and cooking meals. Above all, Jan treasured and cherished her grandchildren, Halee and Joey. They were the apple of her eye and loved them beyond measure. She will forever be remembered for her feisty sense of humor, for her kindness and generosity to those she loved, and for truly living a beautiful life filled with many memories and stories.
Surviving are a daughter, Deanna (Scott) Coon of Hemlock; two grandchildren: Halee Coon of Hemlock; Joey Coon of Hemlock.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Denter; parents, Oren Behler and Maxine Pretzer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Ida Denter; as well as many stepsiblings.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pastor Jason (Jody) Baldwin for all their love, care, and support.
