Janice Virginia Jarrell, 76, of Roopville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. She was born on April 10, 1949, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late Monroe Yancey and Bessie Summers Yancey.
Janice dedicated over thirty years of her life as an office clerk at Southwire, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. Beyond her professional commitments, she was an active and devoted Holy Ground Baptist Church member, participating in various programs and supporting church activities. In her leisure time, Janice loved playing softball, demonstrating her competitive spirit and love for teamwork. Additionally, she was a passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves. Her vibrant personality and dedication made a lasting impact on those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Jarrell; her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Wright, Sheila and Shane Farmer, and Stephanie and Michael Alewine; her sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Darlene Jarrell, and Tracy and Regina Jarrell; her sisters, Shirley Wilson and Edna Akins; her brothers, Larry Yancey and Robert Yancey; her grandchildren, Erica Hudgins, Heather Head, Ashley Buchanan, Casey Hoffman, and Derek Wright; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Janice's life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Holy Ground Baptist Church. Pastor Kelly Runels, Pastor Keith Runels, Brother Michael White, and Brother Greg Yancey will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with Derek Wright, Rex Buchanan, Charlie Hudgins, Hunter Head, Tracy Morrow, and Shane Farmer serving as pallbearers.
