Janice Elaine Kreitner

Janice Elaine Kreitner, age 82, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at her residence in Gaylord, Michigan, surrounded by her family. Janice was born on August 26, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late William T. Cooper and the late Malvaline D. Cooper (nee: Powell).
Janice was the heart of her family; she was the beloved wife of the late George Kreitner III, who died in 2003. She is survived by her cherished children, Joyce (Brian) Starks, Julie Kreitner (Mark Klee), Joline Kreitner (Mike McKenzie), Joanne DeFeyter, and Jessica (David II) Hublick. The matriarch of strength and kindness, she also leaves behind her brother, Dennis Cooper, her adored 18 grandchildren, and her 30 great-grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and generosity.
Janice's life was marked by the joy she found in simple pleasures. She loved to dance to the tunes of Elvis and Michael Jackson and sing along with an infectious passion. Her laughter often filled the room during episodes of Family Feud, and just to keep active, Janice found contentment in her walks through Wal-Mart, a pastime that may have involved a little bit of shopping.
A loving and faith-filled soul, Janice was the epitome of selflessness. Her tireless devotion to her family was evident in every action and every smile she shared. Her presence was a comforting reminder of the enduring power of love.
Janice was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her loving children, the late Joe Kreitner, the late Paul Kreitner, and the late Jennifer Kreitner. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, the late William Cooper and the late Charles Cooper, and further by her four infants, who were lovingly remembered throughout her life.
Janice's life will be honored and celebrated on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Grayling Baptist Church, 705 Madsen Street, in Grayling, Michigan 49738. Visitation will be held at the church from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral services at 2:00 pm. Celebrating the services will be Rev. Pastor David Longstaff. A luncheon will follow the services at the church.
