Janice Mae Leschke, age 76 of Manitowoc, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at her residence.
Janice was born January 5, 1947, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth (Andres) Bergene. She attended school in Valders, graduating with the class of 1965 from Valders High School. After high school Janice held various jobs while pursuing a degree in accounting. She then taught accounting at LTC for many years until her retirement. Janice was an avid outdoors person and enjoyed traveling.
Janice is survived by her daughter: Kari Paredes and her special friend Ramon Crespo, Chicago, IL; one grandson: Lakelan Paredes, Chicago, IL; two sisters and one brother: Nanc (Jim) Kunish, Kiel, Dave Bergene, Valders, and Kate (Wayne) Dehne, Manitowoc; Goddaughter: Paula Hahn, NC; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Norman and Elizabeth Bergene; one sister and brother-in-law: Joan and Jim Kokesch; and one sister-in-law: Cheryl Bergene.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th St, Manitowoc. Deac. Al Boeldt will officiate with burial at the Gjerpen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am.
