Roger R. Leschke, age 77, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
Roger was born on September 18, 1945 in Manitowoc to the late Raymond and Ruth (Schultz) Leschke. He graduated from Lincoln High School. Roger was so proud to valiantly serve his country with the 1st Battalion 30th Field Artillery of the 1st Calvary Division (Airmobile) in the Republic of Vietnam from November 1967 to November 1968. He was awarded the United States Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service by then Commanding General George Forsythe and United States Secretary of the Army Stanley R. Resor. On December 2, 1994, Roger married Mary Sepnafski in Manitowoc. Roger had a love for baseball and played as a pitcher for several premier Manitowoc leagues including Stars of Tomorrow and Lincoln High School. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing, but he enjoyed noting more than sharing his expertise and experiences with beloved friends and family.
Survivors include Roger's wife, Mary; sister, Bonnie Bastian; two brothers-in-law, Jim Hoffman and Jerry Bauer; also several cousins, nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruth Leschke; brother, Casimer Leschke; two sisters, Constance Hoffman and Valerie Bauer; brother-in-law, Roger Bastian; and uncle and aunt, Edmond and Joan Leschke.
In respect with Roger's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with his cremated remains placed at Calvary Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

Thank You Mary and Roger for the time shared with our mother while at Rivers Bend. She still speaks of the two of you frequently. Death leaves a heart ache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steals. May the Lord continue to give you strength. Roger will hold a special place in our hearts.
