Hi, my name is Gina and I am Kay Mangle’s daughter. I wanted to tell you a little bit about my mom before I go into a formal obituary. My mom loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends so much. But first and foremost, she was a Gold Member of the Barry Manilow Fan Club. She has been crazy about him since the 70’s. My brothers and I took turns taking her to see his concerts. She was always so excited and happy while dancing and singing.
Then there was the Tarheels. I would hear her downstairs while watching the basketball games yelling and cheering our team on. My son TJ was able to take her to a Tarheels game against Duke and that memory will stay in his soul forever. She had such great friends that she use to hang out with and speak to daily. Beverly, Debbie, Cissy and Judy to name a few. We all are going to miss her so much. A big piece of our family puzzle is now gone.
She has lived with me for a little over 8 years and I am glad I was able to take care of her. My daughter-in love Krystal Smith helped so much and would come over and spend time with her every day and I am so grateful. I also want to thank her brother and sister-in-law Teddy and Tricia Kerley for always helping as well. She loved you very much.
Mom was survived by her children Gina Timler, Jason Mangle and Jeff Mangle. Grandchildren TJ Kiker and Alyssa Maples. Great grandchildren Jordyn Kiker and Kali Kiker. Brother Ted Kerley and his wife Tricia Kerley along with their daughter Lisa Caudle.
Mom was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Mangle. Her wonderful parents Ted and Evelyn Kerley. Her devoted son-in-law Christopher Timler.
Services to honor Mom will be held at Gaskin Funeral Services, located in Matthews North Carolina 28104.
Mom’s memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends and all those lives she touched. Her absence will be deeply felt.
