Janice Lou (Rutledge) Moore, 78, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Monday, August 25, 2025. A visitation with family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, August 29, 2025. The Funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2025 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park officiated by Pastor Brian Hall.

Janice was born in Brownwood, Texas to E.W. and Ercil Pavia (Billings) Rutledge on September 21, 1946. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1965 and attended some college before marrying and becoming mom to 3 wonderful kids that filled her life with love, memories and grandchildren. Janice worked at K-Mart in Brownwood for about 10 years and was a member of "The Red Hat Society" for over 20 years. She worked at Howard Payne University for a time in the computer lab and also as a substitute teacher for Brownwood and Early schools. She never knew a stranger wherever she went, she could always find someone to talk to even if it was a stranger. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and in her earlier years loved to ride horses. Her favorite thing was babysitting the grandkids and spoiling them rotten.

Janice is survived by her children, Kerri Nelson and husband Billy of Brownwood; Gary Moore and wife, Tiffany of San Angelo and Jerry Moore and wife, Sarah of Bangs; grandchildren, Kayla Latham and husband Noah of Lubbock, AJ Cass and wife Kelby of Brownwood, Brionna Moore and husband Dylan of Stephenville, Tagen Robinson and husband Scott of Brownwood, Averil Olin of Brownwood, Payton Nelson of Brownwood; 3 great grandchildren; her dear friend, Roger Carlisle of Brownwood, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Moore; and her parents, E.W. and Ercil Rutledge; brother, Don Rutledge; and a sister, Gail Flippin.
