Janice Gayle Munsey – age 80 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her home. She was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Anderson County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Munsey; parents, Fount and Jean Haynes; sister. Betty Haynes Shumate; brother, Dale Haynes; brother-in-law, F.T. Munsey; grandson, Tyler Wayne Munsey.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Munsey and wife LeAnna, Rev. Douglas Munsey and wife Dwaynetta; grandsons, Devin Munsey and wife Marleigh, Jacob Baker; granddaughters, LaTesha Nicely and husband Eric, Crystal Roberts; sisters, Velma Munsey, Jane Roe, Linda Mynatt and husband David, Shirley Barker and husband Mark; sister-in-law, Brenda Haynes; grandchildren, Daniel, Derick, Dallas Nicely, Mason Munsey, Alexxus Miller, Weston Miller, Hallie Shelton, Jacqueline Munsey, Lilly Smiddy.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025 with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM Friday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Gabril Haynes and Rev. Jason Nicely officiating with music by Ed and Brenda Shumate and Mary West. Interment service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Cabbage Cemetery in Washburn. Pallbearers will be, Rev. Douglas Munsey, Jimmy Munsey, Derick Nicely, Daniel Nicely, Eric Nicely, Devin Munsey, Dallas Nicely. Honorary pallbearer, Mason Munsey. Family and friends will meet at 9:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home to go with the funeral procession. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville.
