Janice Lee Myers, age 85, of Joplin entered into her heavenly home on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Janice was born on December 8, 1939 in Joplin, MO to the late union of J.T. and Mary Lee (Burpo) Crowder. She was a 1958 graduate of Joplin High School. After graduating, she married the love of her life, James C. Myers, on October 15, 1960 in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they were blessed with 55 years before his passing on March 5, 2016. As a military wife, she traveled to several different military bases over the years. She spent most of her days raising their three children, Jama, Treva and Warren, while James was off to sea. She was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church for over 40 years before her health began to decline. She was the best housewife, mother, grandma and GiGi.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was preceded in death by her three sisters, Mary Jo Dewine, Beverly Oplotnik and Carolyn Doke; and one son-in-law, Greg Geiger.
Janice is survived by her three children, Jama Nichols (Karl), of Joplin, Treva Geiger, of Joplin, and Warren Myers (Cindy), of Carterville; five grandchildren, Kaleigh Bullette (Kelly), Gage Nichols (Kayla), Tadd Nichols (Elizabeth), Samantha Myers and Madison Myers; and five great-grandchildren, Riley Bullette, Jalena Nichols, James Nichols, Ava Nichols and Bentley Nichols.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
