Alexander Michael "Alex" Cavener, age 15, left this world too soon on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his residence in Joplin, Missouri, the same city where his life began on November 30, 2009. His departure has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
Alex's journey was spent in Joplin, where he was a beacon of joy and laughter for his family. He was the beloved son of Shawn Cavener and his wife, Dallas, and Jenae Warren and her husband, TJ. Alex's life was enriched by the love and camaraderie of his siblings: four brothers, Travis Tyler, Bryston Tyler, Channing Cavener, and Grayson Cavener; and a sister, Lily House. His family circle extended to include four stepbrothers, Trace Warren, Deacon Martenson, Hunter Jones, and Lane Jones; and a stepsister, Jasmine Jones. Alex was also the cherished grandson of Ricki Gomez, Barbara Long and her husband, Chris, and Joe Madison and his wife, Glenda. His extended family and a multitude of friends will forever remember Alex's kind spirit and infectious smile.
A student at Joplin High School, Alex had just completed his freshman year, where his presence was a bright light among his peers. His academic journey was just beginning, and his potential was as vast as his curiosity and enthusiasm for life.
Alex's passions were a true reflection of his vibrant personality. He had a kind heart and an innate ability to make people laugh, bringing joy to every room he entered. An avid lover of video games, Alex could often be found with a controller in hand, immersed in another world of adventure and excitement. His love for Star Wars was no secret, as he could eloquently discuss the intricacies of the Force and the characters that brought the epic saga to life. Music was another of Alex's loves, with rap music providing the soundtrack to many of his days.
Above all, Alex loved his family. He had a special bond with his many cousins, with whom he shared countless cherished moments and laughter. His presence at family gatherings was always a source of happiness and fun, and his absence will be profoundly felt at every occasion.
Alex's life, though brief, was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and family. His legacy will live on in the stories told, the games played, and the music shared. As we say goodbye to Alexander Michael Cavener, we hold tight to the memories that will forever keep him alive in our hearts. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend whose life, though short, was full of moments that will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
