Dear Friends and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of our beloved Glenda Myers, who was born on January 18, 1947, and passed away on September 26, 2025. Glenda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her brother Frank Carr; daughters Joanna Huoni and Patricia Lainhart; son Robert (Charlie) Penland; grandsons Chris Penland, Johnathon Howard, Robert Howard, Joshua Penland, and William Corbin; Granddaughters Madeline Penland, Carie Corbin, and Wendy Baril; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband Dennis Myers, mother Glenita Watson, stepfather Ralph Watson, Father Robert Carr, brothers Larry Carr and Bill Fraiser, and grandson Kenneth Howard.
To honor and celebrate the remarkable life Glenda led, we will be holding a celebration of life on October 2, 2025, at the Mims Community Center in McCormick, SC, at 3 PM. This will be followed by a funeral on October 4, 2025, at 2 PM at East Lawn Cemetery in Kingsport, TN.
Glenda was a celebrated mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She was known for her directness and to-the-point nature, yet she had a soft spot in her heart for all first responders and anyone in the community who needed a helping hand or comfort. Her kindness and support have touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Glenda's life and the many wonderful memories she has left us with.
