Janice Rae Plummer, age 81 of Ramsey, IN, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family on January 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 27, 1943, in Corydon, IN, to Claude and June (Davis) Flock, Janice was a graduate of the North Central High School class of 1961. She devoted much of her life to helping others, particularly those with special needs. Janice served as an assistant for Special Education transportation with North Harrison County Schools and later with Blue River Services. Alongside her late husband, she was deeply involved with the Special Olympics for many years, a cause close to her heart, especially through her son, Bobby.
On December 9, 1967, Janice married her beloved husband, Bobby Plummer Sr., and together they built a life rich in love and service to their community. Janice had a passion for baking, cooking, and nurturing those around her, particularly her daughter's friends, who often considered her a second mother. Her greatest joy, however, was being a grandmother and cherishing time with her grandchildren.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Sr., her sister Patricia Ketterman, and sister-in-law Karen Flock.
She is survived by her daughter, Terra (Shaun) Senn; son, Bobby Plummer Jr.; step-daughter, Diana Faith (Chris) Sammut-Kline; grandchildren Damon, Dawson, and Jocelyn Senn; brother, Phil Flock; and brother-in-law, Harry Ketterman.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Swarens Funeral Home, Ramsey, IN. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Woods Chapel Cemetery.
