Janice graduated from Jackson High School in South Bend and retired from the South Bend Tribune where she delivered newspapers. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and she especially loved her dogs.
Janice is survived by her long-time companion Robert Murray, sisters; Linda Helfrich, South Bend, IN, Jane Smith, Sarasota, FL and Alice Umbaugh, Plymouth, IN.
According to the family wishes, there will not be any services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545, or plant a tree in her memory with The Arbor Day Foundation, 211 N. 12th Street Lincoln, NE 68508
Palmer Funeral Home, Guisinger Chapel 3718 South Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614 is assisting the family with arrangements.

My condolences to the family,I worked with Jan at the South Bend Tribune and when she worked at Target when it was on Hickory road in South Bend. So sorry to hear of her passing.
