Janie B. Green (Majors), age 91, of Manchester, TN passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on January 14, 1934, to her parents John Homer Majors and Lula M. (McCullough) Majors. Including her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband Floyd James Green, son Timothy Green, 4 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her sons James Green (Brenda), Kenneth Green, Phil Green (Michelle), daughters Deborah Farless (Dale), Angela Banks (Shannon), Barbara Gaona, one daughter in law Carol Green, 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Janie was devoted to her family, and her love for children extended into her work as a preschool teacher. She cherished the opportunity to teach and nurture young minds, a passion that she carried with her throughout her life. In addition to her dedication to teaching, Janie was an avid crafter. She delighted in creating handmade Christmas ornaments for each of her family members, a tradition that will be fondly remembered by all who received them.
A lifelong member of Noah Church of Christ, Janie found joy in participating in church events and sharing her faith with those around her. Her warm spirit and kindness were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
A Visitation to honor Janie's life will be held on Wednesday February 26, 2025, at Noah Church of Christ from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The Church service will begin at 12:00pm with internment to follow at Farrar Hill Cemetery.
