Janie Ann Guiliani

Janie Ann Guiliani, age 65, of Vanderbilt, Michigan passed away from lung cancer on November 30, 2025 at The Villa nursing home in Rose City, Michigan.
Born in Stambaugh, Michigan on July 26, 1960, Janie graduated from Michigan Tech and U of M with degrees in Mining and Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.
Janie worked for Ford Motor Company as a manager before starting new careers in Gaylord as owner of Northern Bowling Enterprises and Natural Shorescapes. She was well known for her passion for ski racing and instruction at Boyne Mountain, and travelled extensively to participate in races around the world.
Janie loved to be involved in northern Michigan environmental causes, Women in Engineering, enjoying nature with her dogs and spending time with her family and many friends.
Janie is preceded in death by her mother, Agnus Miatech and father, Urban Guiliani. She is survived by her husband Jim King, children Vicky, Alex (Jake), and Hunter, nine grandchildren, a brother Tom (Susan) and sister Teresa (Tim).
Janie will be remembered for her caring kindness, passion for life, and love for her family and friends. Her quick wit and guidance were cherished by those who knew her and her presence will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, watershedcouncil.org a cause embraced by Janie.
Visitation for Janie will be held on December 7, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Nelsons Funeral Home, 135 N. Center Avenue, Gaylord, Michigan 49735. A memorial is planned for the summer of 2026.
