Janine Mary Senatore, age 66, of Hanover MA, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024. Janine was born in Brooklyn NY to Louis and Vivian Senatore. She attended schools in Brooklyn NY and Hanover MA before studying nursing at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing.
Janine was preceded in death by her brother Louis and her parents, Louis and Vivian. She is survived by her sisters, Rose and Vivian, and her brother John.
Starting at a young age, Janine developed an interest in the arts. In school, she acted in a variety of theatrical productions, including The Wizard of Oz, The Pajama Game, and Damn Yankees. She sang in a number of choruses including the choir at St Joseph the Worker church in Hanson MA. She also worked as a back-up singer on several studio recordings.
Janine was a talented artist who created works of art using several mediums ranging from paints and charcoal to clay. Her many paintings and drawings reflected her unique personality and her interpretation of the world around her. Janine had a great eye for fashion, color, and design. Her outfits and home decor were one-of-a-kind.
Everyone in Janine's life knew how much she loved working with clay. She studied her craft with teachers in Massachusetts and Florida, and also at the Mudflat Pottery School in Somerville MA, and the Tuscarora Pottery School in Nevada. Janine created beautiful ceramic pieces, some of which were exhibited in art galleries. She also provided art lessons to students at her private studio in Hanover MA.
Janine was passionate about her work as a caregiver. She worked as an RN at various hospitals in Massachusetts and Florida, including Boston City Hospital, Jackson Memorial in Miami, and most recently at Brockton Hospital. At the beginning of her career as a nurse, she worked with some of the first aids patients in Boston. She worked in a transplant unit at Jackson, and she finished her career working on an IV team during COVID at Brockton Hospital.
Janine was a cat lover, a nature lover, and a friend of the Hanover Dems. She was an avid reader, a talented dancer, and enjoyed traveling. She made many road trips in the USA and also visited Greece, Turkey, Mexico, and Jamaica.
Janine will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives were touched by her kind and caring nature.

I first met Janine on our first day of nursing school and loved her then and there. We went through school together and started our careers together at Boston City Hospital, working side by side. Then going out dancing and partying afterwards to let go of all that stress. I am so sad to see that she is gone and that I wasn't able to catch up with her before she died. Janine was one of a kind - an effervescent presence, strong, brash and funny as hell but also deeply caring and ethical. She was one of the best friends I've ever had. My condolences to Janine's family and friends on this loss. She was, I'm sure, deeply loved. I certainly loved her and the world was better with her in it.
