Our dear mother, Janine A. Turano, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024, at the age of 86.
She was born in Lowell, MA on December 13, 1937 and spent most of her life in Leominster, MA where she raised her family. She worked as a triage registrar at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester and retired in 1994. That same year, the hospital recognized her as an “Employee of the Month”.
She was a generous and thoughtful lady, but most importantly, a devoted mother and grandmother. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of her Leominster community.
She loved cooking, baking, watching old movies, reading, and listening to her favorite band, Queen - which she just recently discovered. She also enjoyed shopping and getting her hair done every Friday. She was very independent and most days she would drive her new car to the mall or surrounding stores.
She is predeceased by her father, William Archambault; mother, Yvonne (St. Hilaire) Archambault; husband, Joseph Turano; and brothers Robert Archambault and Paul Archambault.
She is survived by her children: Matthew Turano and his wife Christine of Sterling, MA, and daughter Jodi (Turano) Michaud and her husband Gregory of Stow, MA and four grandsons: William and Jack Michaud, and Joseph and Ryan Turano; sisters-in-law: Mary (Turano) Richard and Frances Turano; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
