Jared Michael Coursen, forever 21, passed away at his home in the early morning hours of October 21, 2024. Born in Allentown, PA, on March 27, 2003, Jared was known for his kind-hearted spirit, brilliance, and deep compassion for others.
Jared graduated from Wellington High School with an AICE Diploma and enjoyed music, especially jazz, which brought him joy and inspiration throughout his life. He found happiness in the simple pleasures-exploring the woods, cooking, music, reading, and enjoying the rain. Jared was an avid gamer, a soccer enthusiast, and someone who took delight in the comforting scent of candles. Jared shared a loving bond with his partner, Jesse Turner III, and adored his Labrador retrievers, Stella and Hazel.
Jared is survived by his parents, David and Amy Coursen; his sister, Chelsea Fleeher, and her husband, John Fleeher; and his brothers, Trevor and Matthew Coursen. Jared was cherished by his maternal grandparents, Michael and Janet Johnson, and Dale and Denise Stuck, as well as his paternal grandparents, David and Eileen Coursen. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Paula and Brian Stoudt, and Zachary and Samantha Coursen, along with Tyler Stuck. Jared was adored by his cousins, Natalie and Nicole Stoudt, and his nieces and nephew, Ella, Cooper, and Madelyn Fleeher.
A Visitation hour will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at Del Lago Chapel, 131 S. Lakeside Drive, Lake Worth, FL 33460, followed by a Memorial Service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Castellina Clubhouse, 2900 Luca Street, Wellington, FL 33414.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jared's Story: Turning Grief into Purpose and Protection, a fund organized in Jared's memory to advocate for the Youth Poisoning Prevention Act (S.2233) and increase awareness about methylene blue as a life-saving antidote in emergency situations.
