Lee Arthur Grissinger, 87, of Wellington, died Monday, December 22, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family. Born on April 4, 1938 in Wellington, he was the son of the late Sydney and Byrdie (nee Johnson) Grissinger. Lee spent most of his life in Wellington except for a short stint in Florida during grade school.

A 1957 graduate of Wellington High School, Lee was very athletic, lettering in 4 sports and he played quarterback back on the 1955 and 56 championship football team. His love of sports continued through life as he coached little league, played golf and bowled in leagues. In 1997 he traveled to Arizona to the Indians Fantasy Camp.

Lee began his manufacturing career with Wedge Wire where he eventually became general manager. He later left Wedge Wire to start his own business, Profile Screens, in Peoria IL, which he owned for 10 years. Lee was very civic minded and for 32 years dedicated his time to the Wellington Fire Department, retiring in 1992. He was also a member of St Patrick Catholic Parish, where he served on the building and finance committees.

He is survived by his loving wife, who he started dating 74 years ago and celebrated 70 years of marriage to, Carmel (nee Marley) Grissinger; children, Toni Lynne Grissinger, of Amherst, Lee (Linda) Grissinger, Jr., of Wellington, John (Lee Ann) Grissinger, of Dayton, Joan (Jon) Gott, of Wellington, and Denise (Kenny) Craig, of Wellington; grandchildren, Shelly (Rusty) Maze, Maili (Jonathen) Friend, Ashley (Justin) Bockmore, Melanie (Andrew) Davis, Jake (Hannah) Shaffer, and Carlee Shaffer; great grandchildren, Jackson, Parker, Kynlee, Cole, Korie, Marleigh, and one on the way. In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Jim and Rose Marley; sister Nora Clapper, and brother-in-law, Tony Marley.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, December 28, from 3-6 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, where a memorial service will be held on Monday, beginning at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Wellington Fire Fighters Association, 202 Kelly Street, Wellington.
