Jared Saltzman

Jared Saltzman, 74, of Clifton, died suddenly on March 4, 2025. Born in the Bronx, NY to David & Perle (Kraus) Saltzman, he has resided in Clifton for the past 51 years.
Jared has been teaching at Bergen Community College in Paramus for 51 years. He taught speech, film, and theater. He also wore many hats in the BCC Theater Program, both directing and designing lights for productions during his time there. Additionally, he not only helped build the school's Lab Theater but also helped open it for productions. He also spent the last 30 years teaching online courses in both speech and cinema arts at Thomas Edison University.
Jared enjoyed living life to the fullest in all aspects, including spending time with his family, especially taking his 14-year old rescue dog, Bella, for walks, going camping any chance he got, and walks to and from the pier on the beach of Emerald Isle in the Outer Banks. He loved going to as many sporting events as he could for his children growing up and for his step-grandchildren. A true sports fan, he thoroughly enjoyed talking about and analyzing the game. His favorite teams are Chelsea FC, the NY Rangers, the NY Yankees, the NY Jets, and the NY Giants. He was passionate about his job, both teaching, designing lights for theater productions at BCC, as well as his electrician and stagehand work at Giants Stadium, The Meadowlands, and Bethel Performing Arts Center.
Jared was an active member of IATSE, both local 632 and 353 and an active member of Clifton Masonic Lodge #203 F&AM.
Jared is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Margie (Harris) of Clifton, by two daughters; Aimee Gianino & husband Justin of Wanaque, and Arielle Saltzman & wife Meagan of Bloomfield, by two step-grandchildren; Lucca & Henry, and by a brother Jay Saltzman of FL.
Visitation will take place 2-4 PM Friday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ 07012. Cremation will take place privately.
