In Loving Memory of Jarvis Christopher Sewell Sr.
February 10, 1971 – November 10, 2025
Jarvis Christopher Sewell Sr., 54, of Alexandria, Louisiana, peacefully transitioned on November 10, 2025, at Rapides Hospital, surrounded by the family who loved him endlessly.
Born on February 10, 1971, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Sullivan Sewell Jr. and the late Debra Ann McKay Sewell, Jarvis was the oldest of his siblings and a guiding light to all who knew him. He was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. S.Y. Brady at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he also sang joyfully in the choir.
A proud graduate of Tioga High School, Class of 1989, Jarvis went on to attend Northwestern State University. Known for his kind heart and uplifting spirit, he was a man of pure love - always just one call away for advice, laughter, or a helping hand.
Jarvis had many passions that brought him joy. He loved video games, wrestling, westerns, and the timeless music of Bob Marley. But above all, he treasured time spent with his family. His joy for life shone through in everything he did, no matter the circumstances.
He was the kind of brother, son, husband, father, and grandfather that comes only once in a lifetime - loyal, dependable, and full of love. He truly was "there through it all."
Jarvis was united in marriage to Yvonne Peace, and to this union three beautiful children were born: Helena Peace (Alexandria), Jarvis Sewell Jr. (Alexandria), and Delbriana Sewell (Alexandria).
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving father Sullivan Sewell Jr., and his siblings Jarmal Sewell (Montgomery, AL), John Sewell (Farrah), of (Alexandria,La)and Sullivan "Nicole" Sewell(Ball,La)
Jarvis was preceded in death by his beloved mother Debra Ann McKay Sewell and his nephew Alijah Daray Sewell and sister Latreecha McKay
He will forever be remembered and missed by his precious grandchildren, who adored their "PawPaw": Cae'Lee Nelson (CaeleeBoo), Nolan Nelson (BossMan), Kar'Mane Rue (Main Man), Noah Nelson (Sneaky), and Kiyanne Sewell (Skootywopwop).
he will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles and a host of cousins.
Jarvis lived his life with love, laughter, and faith - a man whose presence brought peace, and whose legacy will continue to shine through his family. His kindness, strength, and warmth will live on in every heart he touched.
Please keep the Sewell Family in prayer.
