Lynda R. Craig of Mansfield, Louisiana, a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of Mansfield, she was born on May 16, 1951 to James Mixon Rascoe Sr. and Mayme Rascoe Binning. Lynda was a 1969 graduate of Mansfield High School and attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She served as a Special Education Bookkeeper with the DeSoto Parish School System for 42 years and retired in May of 2021.

Lynda was a member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana. She had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and in her younger years found great joy and excitement in barrel racing. She lived her life with unmistakable style and grace, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She cherished her lifelong friends, family, and God.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 55 years, Thomas (Tommy) Craig; her children, Brooke Cassel(Billy); Bennie Womack(Amy); her cherished mother, Mayme Binning; beloved grandson, Mixon Mik; granddaughters Abby and Anna Womack; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Mixon Rascoe Sr., her brother, Dr. James M Rascoe Jr., Aunt, Sandra Lollar Cosby, and Uncle, Frank Lollar.

Lynda's life was a testament to love, compassion, and quiet strength. She found joy in life's simple moments - spending time with her family and sharing laughter with friends. Her gentle heart and enduring kindness will continue to inspire those blessed to have known her. Though she is no longer with us, Lynda's love and light remain - carried in the hearts of those she held most dear.

A Visitation of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:00-12:00, at First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana. Friends and loved ones are invited to join the family in honoring Lynda's life and celebrating the love and grace she so beautifully embodied.

A special expression of gratitude is also extended to Wendy Pearson (Randy) whose friendship brought her great joy and comfort throughout her life. The family would also like to thank Lisa (Thelma) Bogan for her 28 years of love and care.
