Our beloved mother, Linda Rae Bowman, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at home, surrounded by immediate family. She is survived by her brothers, Jim Jemison and Sam Ederington, both of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Michael Williams of Amarillo, Texas; her sisters, Cathy Ederington of Vancouver, Washington, Anne Smith of Oceanside, California, and Carolyn Ederington of Bastrop, Louisiana.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Wynne Bowman; her son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Karla Bowman, both of Princeton, Louisiana; her grandson, Tripp Bowman, and his wife, Jillian “Bean” Bowman; and her great-grandson, Baker Nicolas Bowman, of Haughton, Louisiana; granddaughter, Brooke Bowman and adopted grandson, Alex Boyd of Buffalo, New York; pets Josie, Emma, Louis, Chanel and Cinnamon.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Nick Felton Bowman of Princeton, Louisiana; her mother, Ouida Maxine Ederington of Bastrop, Louisiana, and father, James Ray Jemison of Alexandria, Louisiana.
Linda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Linda received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Northwestern State University in 1993. Deciding to pursue teaching, she completed her Secondary Education Certification at Louisiana College in 1994 and her Library Science Certification from Louisiana Tech in 2001.
Linda began teaching English at Alexandria Senior High School in Alexandria, Louisiana, in 1994. After completing her first year, she relocated to Farmerville, Louisiana, where she continued teaching English at Farmerville High School until she moved into the Librarian role in 2001. She retired from education at the beginning of 2008. Prior to teaching, Linda worked in Human Resources, but nothing was as important to her as working in education and teaching high school students.
After retiring from teaching, Linda focused her time on traveling with her husband, her Club 48 friends, her daughter, and her grandkids. Spending time with her grandkids brought her the greatest joy.
Linda will be cremated at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. At this time, the family asks that donations to the cancer charity of your choice be made instead of flowers or other gifts.
