Virginia "Karen" Bowman

Virginia "Karen" Bowman, 77, a life-long resident of Soddy-Daisy, a vibrant, loving, and spirited woman, passed away peacefully with her husband of nearly 60 years, Rick Bowman by her side.
Karen was born on June 11, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Robert Lee Moody and Nettie Perkins Moody.
Karen loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas, where she delighted in the sounds of the slot machines and the thrill of the lights. She enjoyed concerts, poetry, prayer, and music, which were constant companions throughout her life. Passionate and opinionated, she followed politics closely-sometimes maybe a little too closely-and never hesitated to share her thoughts with that signature smirky grin.
She loved her family, her friends, and her grandchildren deeply. Karen had an unconventional spirit and never met a stranger. Spicy, spunky, and always put together, she lived life to the fullest and always on her own terms.
As the family nurse, Karen was the one everyone called-for advice on everything from the common cold to life's bigger questions-and she was always ready to help. Each morning began with prayer, a reflection of her deep faith and gratitude. She gave generously of her time, her heart, and her unwavering love.
While in high school, Karen met Ricky, a young man who fell in love with her at first sight. He wined and dined her at local diners and burger joints, and the two quickly became inseparable. Their love story grew into a lifelong partnership filled with laughter, devotion, and family.
Karen will be remembered for her authenticity, her sincerity, and her ability to make everyone around her feel seen and loved.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bo Bowman.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rickie Gene Bowman; her children, Amy (Brian) Yuhas, and Shannon (Tony) Orr; and her grandchildren, Gabe Herman, Austin Orr, and Abby Orr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 14th in the funeral home chapel with Bro. James Eggert officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
