Jason Eugene Elder

Jason Eugene Elder, age 24, of Sterling died suddenly Sunday, April 30, 2023, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Jason was born on October 22, 1998, in Wooster, Ohio, to Kevin Elder and Diana (Fitzgerald) Massey and graduated from Chippewa High School in 2017 and received his diesel certification from TDDS Diesel Technology Institute.
He worked as a laborer for Miller Pipe Line.
Jason was a member of Labors Union 860 out of Cleveland. He enjoyed bow hunting, being with friends, bull riding, fishing, being in the woods & outdoors, singing karaoke. He believed on Christ as his savior. He liked football and was a life long Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Jason loved to make people laugh and valued being a protector of all who he loved and cared about, as well as any underdog that needed protection. He loved his country and will be remembered as a patriot through and through.
Surviving are maternal grandfather, James C. Fitzgerald of Marshallville, OH; maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Fitzgerald of Marshallville, OH; two sisters, Denise (Todd) Kunkelman of Bloomdale, Mallory (Blake) Hofacker of Canal Fulton; brother, Clark Elder of Norton; step-brother, Paul Massey of Sterling; step-dad Ryan Massey; four legged nephew, Diesel; four legged brother, Clyde; nephews, Ben and Sam Kunkelman; cousins, Emma, Zach, Jake Fitzgerald, and Josh Hale; uncle, Chuck (Mandi) Fitzgerald; two aunts, Denise (Mike) Lewis, Karla Elder of SC; step-grandparents, Richard (Susan) Massey and Darlene (Dave) Kline and several aunts, uncles, and cousins in Pennsylvania & South Carolina
He was preceded in death by cousin, Chris Hale, paternal grandparents, Bertha Elder-Domer, and Richard Elder.
Friends may call on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, at Auble Funeral Home, with Pastor Chaz Pumphrey officiating. Burial will take place at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Doylestown.
