Roger Baker Obituary

Roger was born on January 4, 1941, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late James Ellis and Esther (Poholski) Baker. He graduated from Rittman High School in 1959 and married Judy Marlene Turner on September 12, 1959, in Orrville. Judy survives.
He worked as a laborer for PPG Industries in Barberton, retiring in 1992.
Roger was a proud member of Cedar Lodge #430 (Orrville) and a former Orrville City Councilman. He was an avid gardener, well-known for his famous tomato plants. He enjoyed morning coffee with friends at the "round table" at McDonald's, taking trips to Manistee, Michigan, and spending time with his family. He was also a collector of many things.
Surviving are his son, Bobby (Stacey) Baker of Wooster; two daughters, Janet (Jim) Reynolds of Orrville and Kathy Baker of Columbus; five grandchildren, Brandon Baker, Karyn (Justin) Zollinger, Robert Reynolds, Dr. Nathan Reynolds, and Janette (TJ) Molenkamp; four great-grandchildren, Brooks Zollinger, Camdyn, Gerrit, and Lily Molenkamp; two sisters, Faye (Virgil) Cyrus of Sterling, and Kaye (Ed) Jackson of Rittman; sister-in-law, Marcia Hathaway of Sevierville, TN.; and a beloved grand-dog, Macy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sisters, Deloris A. Craddock, Mary Workman, and Lois Calvo; and brother, James Baker.
A memorial service will be held on September 21, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Schmidt Hall, 501 Hall Street, Orrville.

I remember Roger as a patient briefly. But I remember him more when I was working out at whales physical therapy, now on site physical therapy, when Roger, Virgil, TERRY and the physical therapist, Angie would have Coffee together, while Angie was trying to work. I'm sorry for your loss Judy.
