Our beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend, Jason Boyd Julander, passed away on the morning of September 20, 2025.
Jason was born in Payson, Utah, to John and Kathy Julander. He was the youngest of three children and the only boy - he had everyone wrapped around his little finger. When he was about two weeks old, Dad came in from work and asked, “How is our little spud doing?” From that moment on, he was - and will always be - known as Spud.
He attended schools in Spanish Fork and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 2007.
“Jew,” another nickname known only to his closest friends, reflected his deep love of music. He cherished concerts and shared many fun times with his friends. His favorite musician was Jim Morrison of The Doors, and we’re certain they’re fast friends on the other side.
Jason had a great laugh and a radiant smile. His big brown eyes could melt your heart. He loved deeply and played hard. Sundays were reserved for golf or pickleball. He was an avid thinker - smarter than he realized - and he loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with Dad and his friends. His prized catch is mounted on Mom and Dad’s living room wall.
For a time, he worked for the forestry service in Washington State. It was there he adopted the love of his life - his dog, Echo. She never left his side, and he loved her with his whole heart. You’d often see them going for rides, taking walks, or watching the Utah Jazz, football, or golf. Their bond was unbreakable. She will be spoiled and cherished by her Nanna and Papa.
Jason was incredibly smart and a master teaser. He was funny, playful, and genuine. You always knew he loved you. He never shied away from a hug and always said, “Love you too.”
Even though his address has changed to Heaven, we still feel him near. We love you, Spudster.
Jason is survived by his parents, John and Kathy Julander of Spanish Fork, UT; grandmother, Sandy Julander of Marysvale, UT; his sisters, Malissa (Ryan) Moses of Spanish Fork, UT, and Kayci (Matthew) Jardine of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces, Kaylee (Zane) Hardman, Jacqui (Ari) Jensen, Sarah, and Meagan; nephews, Hunter and Wyatt; and his “brothers from another mother,” Jeremy, Kris, Dodge, Scott and Hicken.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don Julander, and John and Mabel Wink, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 12:00 Noon in Marysvale Ward Chapel at 800 W Bullion Ave.
