Jason Thomas Measeles was born to Tommy and Laura Measeles on May 2, 1975 in Austin, Texas. Jason, a lifelong Austinite and Texan, was affectionately known to his friends as Ducky. Jason passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at home on June 17, 2023.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents: Paul and Floren Measeles and Robert and Francis Doetsch.
Jason is survived by his wife of 18 years, Melissa; his children: Brooke and Caleb; his parents: Tommy and Laura Measeles; his sister, Amanda and her wife Christina Nisse; and his nephews: Jamison and Garrett Root.
Jason graduated from Reagan High School in 1993. Following high school, Jason attended The University of Texas, and Concordia University. Jason, who could never sit still, decided to leave school, have one more party at the duplex, load up his Explorer, and went to St. Louis to start a career on the road as an insurance adjuster. Jason dedicated the next 20 plus years of his life to adjusting insurance claims for Pilot Catastrophe. Wanting to spend more time with his kids and family, Jason took a leap in 2019 and started Oakwood Roofing & Construction, which quickly grew into a successful family business.
Jason was a man of strong convictions who was fiercely loyal to all those he knew and loved. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend, always willing to do anything to ensure their happiness. Jason had a strong passion for the outdoors. He loved sports, a good fire, traveling, barbecuing with his "Get er' Done" friends, and spending time with those he loved. Jason truly lived the mentality of "work hard, play hard." His laughter and smile filled every room, and his presence never went unnoticed. Jason never met a stranger, never backed down from a challenge, loved a "good bite" and always had time for just one more beer.
Jason lived his life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to enjoy himself, his family, and his friends. Ducky is going to be eternally missed, his smile and laugh will continue to comfort those who love him. His memory will undoubtedly make many of us take a risk we might not have taken if we hadn't known him. To know him was to love him.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23rd, 2023 at Ramsey Funeral Home. 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78633.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home.
