Jay F. Dillon

Muncie - Jay F. Dillon, 87, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at Lincolnshire Place, Muncie.
Jay was always a bright ray of sunshine. He was born on February 17, 1938 in Albany, Indiana to William "Scott" and Roberta A. Dillon. He graduated from Albany High School and Muncie Trade School. He celebrated a joy-filled marriage of sixty-seven years to his wife, Gloria (Stellwag), who survives.
A man of faith, Jay was known for his deep and abiding love for his family and friends. He worked for General Motors all his life, starting as journeyman electrician and ending as a manager. He continued to work even after retirement: as a painter, landscaper, and as a custodian for both the Women's Shelter in Muncie and for his church, The Garden at Gethsemane. His lifelong love of cars was embodied in his near-half-century time with the safety patrol for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and his membership in the Central Indiana Old Car Club. He was a man of warmth, love, laughter, perfect lawns, Christmas spirit, and stylish hats who was dearly loved by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Gloria; daughters Kelly (Randy) Garrett, Jayna Dillon, Tracy (Dave) Christman; grandchildren Tyler (Lisa) Garrett, Kristina (Matt) Graves, Tony (Jessica) Christman, Kelsey (Robbie) Nally, Brian Lafever, Andrew Christman, Jason (Hannah) Lafever, Dylan (Jordan) Christman; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Janice Dickey, and brother Earl (Jackie) Dillon.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 29th, from 4-7 pm at The Meeks Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Rd.
A private ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 30th, at The Garden at Gethsemane. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery, Yorktown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Garden at Gethsemane in his memory.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lincolnshire Place and Brighton Hospice for their compassion shown throughout Jay's journey.
