Services: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 100 W Main St, Mountville, PA 17554.
The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Burial will follow at Mountville Cemetery.
Jay R. Greider, 81, of Columbia passed away February 27, 2024. He was born in Lancaster to the late Samuel and Lois Greider and was a lifelong resident of this area.
Jay was a graduate of Hempfield High School and was a milk delivery man with Pensupreme before working with Armstrong World Industries before his retirement. He then worked in mail delivery until retiring once again. Jay enjoyed camping in his motorhome with his late wife Julia. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars. Jay served as judge of elections for the Hempfield voting district for many years. He was a faithful member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Mountville.
Jay leaves behind four children, Brenda, wife of Scott Johnson of Columbia, MD, Sharon Kiehl, wife of David of Landisville, Richard, husband of Elaine Aument of Lititz, Keith, husband of Melissa Aument of Mount Joy; nine grandchildren, Evan, Christopher, Samuel, Hope, Karli, Andrea, Ryan, Kinsey, and Jasmine; two sisters, Janet, wife of Roy Weitzel of Mountville, Judy, wife of the late Marv Millhouse of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Julia in 2023.
Services for Jay will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 100 W Main St, Mountville, PA 17554. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Mountville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Paul's United Methodist Church
