Born on May 14, 2003, he was the son of Yulonda Word and Jerome White, who survives. He was known best for his intentional effort to brighten the lives of others.
Jay'Shaun was educated in the Pittsylvania County school system and maintained employment during his short-lived, adult life. His favorite hobbies were football, basketball, music, and gaming.
He was predeceased by his older brothers, Jamond Word and Jerome White; grandmother, Joyce Word; grandfather, Michael White; and uncle, Quincy Saunders.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his parents, Yulonda Word (Tavio Clark) and Jerome White; siblings, Jakira Word, Tamasjai Miller, Kaycen White, JeVeah White, La'Tavia Clark, and Aliyana Calvey; aunts and uncles, Roy Word, Dexter Word, Dwayne Gregory (Mary), Devonne King, Christon Word, Kion Word, Cordarrell Word, DerrickWord, Jion Word, Fredricka Word, Michael White, Timothy White, and Wanda Davis; grandparents, Constance Coleman and Silas Whitehead (Jennifer); cousin/friend Lamondrae Trevon Coles (twin) and a host of other cousins, great aunts, uncles and friends.
Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church, 857 Java Road, Java, Virginia. Rev. Antonel Myler, Sr., Pastor, Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church, Eulogist. Rev. Roger Williams, Mt. Nebo, Pastor, Gretna, Virginia, Presiding. Interment will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church, 3853 Zion Road, Gretna, Virginia 24557.
The viewing will be held an hour prior to the service.
The family is asked to assemble at 12:45 p.m. at the residence on the day of the service.
