In the game of life, this wasn't your final quarter, but rather a time-out before your eternal victory. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing your spirit continues to shine and play on in Heaven.
He is survived by his children, Jaxson Michael James, Jayce Mark James, and Ella Kate Menard; parents, Heidi Rester and Stacey James; sister, Madison James; grandparents, Nick and Judy Rester, Bobby and Anna James; fiancé, Tyler Morrison; mother of his boys, Haylee Hayden; father-in-law, Macey Morrison; mother-in-law, Tonya Morrison; sister-in-law, Taylor Morrison; a very special niece, Elliana Reese Warford; special cousins, Daryus James, Deonte James, Bryce Vick; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
Jaylen was preceded in death by his cousin, Quanacia James.
Pallbearers will be Bryce Hayden, Tristan Herring, Cody Addison, Daryus James, Deonte James, Bryce Vick, Deandre Bickham, Jerome Turner, and Josh McClain.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jaxson James, Jayce James, Cace Reed, Christopher Reed, BJ James, Robbie Batiste and Anthony Love.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W Hammond, LA 70401, on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Duke Chance will officiate with interment to follow in the James Family Cemetery.

I remember Jay as a little boy. He was always so happy, smiling constantly and brought so much joy to everyone in his presence. He had the sweetest soul and was so genuine. All of my love and prayers to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We love you Jay. We´re sure gonna miss you down here.
