Jayne M. Stoffer, 71, of New Castle, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at Henry Community Health. She was born Sept. 20, 1954, in New Castle. Jayne was a 1972 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School. She was a deputy clerk for the Henry Township Trustee and later worked as a deputy clerk for the City of New Castle, retiring in 2016 after 21 years' service.
Jayne was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed yardwork and being outside. She loved her dog, Rose.
Jayne is survived by siblings Jennifer "Jenny" Brewer, Tracy (Jill) Lavarnway and Kevin Lavarnway, 6 nieces and nephews, including special niece Shelby (Jenna) Acton, 8 great nieces and nephews including Jayne's little buddy Lennon Acton, uncle Jim (Donna) Judy, special cousins Beth Schulte and Allen (Carol) Weisheit, special friends Karen Lawson and Brenda Longnecker, special neighbors Butch and Sandy Ryan, Tonia Blake, Lisa Neal and Jack Grizzell.
Jayne was preceded in death by her mother Janice "Jan" (Judy) Lavarnway, stepfather Lawrence "Larry" Lavarnway, sister Terri Lavarnway, nephew Eric Brewer and aunt Nadine Kirkpatrick.
A funeral to celebrate Jayne's life will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 21, at Grace Baptist Church 2649 Q Avenue New Castle. Friends may call on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. Anne's Cemetery, New Castle.
