Jean E. Casher, 81, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 19, 2024. Born on November 7, 1942, in Gum Stump, Boggs Twp., she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Mildred (Fye) Bennett.
Jean was very proud that she earned her GED in 1984. She worked at various places throughout her career. Her last job was working for Penn DOT, cleaning the local rest areas.
Jean cleaned many homes on the Mountaintop area and was a seamstress for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed watching TV, especially Gunsmoke, NCIS, John Wayne movies, and the Beverly Hillbillies. She was always ready for a backyard campfire. She was a kind-hearted person and would help anyone she could.
Jean is survived by her children: John L. Casher of Clarence, Lori S. Surovec and her husband, Shannon, of Snow Shoe, and Kathleen D. Kline of Bellefonte. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Shannon Poorman, Taren Correl, Johnna Spicer, and Lane Casher; six great grandchildren: Ryeleigh, Reagan, Cooper, Espen, Deacon, and Theo, and one sister, Grace M Smith of Arizona.
Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Casher, who died at birth and one brother, Elwood Bennett.
There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA. with Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating.
