Jean V. Dawson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 1,2025, at the age of 82 in Old Bridge, NJ. Born on May 8,1942, in Newark, NJ, Jean's warmth and vivacity left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Jean's nurturing spirit was a cornerstone of her existence. After moving from Newark to Old Bridge in 1967, she devoted herself to creating a loving home for her family. It was there that she and her late husband John Dawson, who preceded her in death in 2023, raised a household filled with love and laughter. Jean's legacy continues through her four children, John and his wife Laurie, Scott, Sandra, and Cheryl and her husband Paul, as well as her cherished ten grandchildren: John, Layla, Paul, Shea, Kiana, Jack, Noelle, Nicole, Ty, and Rileigh.
For 25 years, Jean brought her meticulous attention to detail to East Brunswick Plumbing Supply as a bookkeeper. Her professionalism and dedication to her work were an asset to her colleagues and company until her retirement.
Jean's interests were a tapestry of creative and caring activities. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. A consistent presence at her grandchildren's sporting events, Jean relished in celebrating every milestone and accomplishment alongside them. Her love for her family was boundless and evident in every aspect of her life.
Her enthusiasm for life extended to her leisure time spent embracing the simple pleasures of game shows and her favorite programs on ME T.V., Nostalgia T.V., and Britbox T.V. Her zest for the small joys of everyday life was infectious, and her bright spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A visitation for Jean will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 RT 516, Old Bridge, NJ.
