Charles (Chuck) Bentivenga Jr., of Long Branch, NJ, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2025. A beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, Chuck left a lasting impression on all he met and will be greatly missed.

Born on October 3, 1958 in New Brunswick, NJ, to parents Charles Sr. and Lois Bentivenga, Chuck graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1976 and Rutgers University in 1980, where he earned a Bachelor of Computer Science degree. Following graduation, he enrolled at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he received a Master of Science degree in Computer Info. Therein began a lifelong affinity with computers, and Chuck spent much of his time tinkering with software and technology. He was extremely proud to retire from Merck & Co as a Senior Director in 2011. Chuck came out of retirement in 2015 and became a Computer Teacher at Linwood Middle School which was a culmination of his experience and interest. In addition to his love of work, he enjoyed watching New York Giants football games and later in life becoming a bandwagon Buccaneers fan, playing guitar, and watching action movies. Chuck also volunteered with senior citizens, spending time and aiding them with their taxes.

More than anything, Chuck was devoted to his family. He married his beloved late wife Stella Moendir on March 22, 1987, and together they welcomed sons Charles (Charlie) Bentivenga III and Daniel Bentivenga. In recent years, he greatly enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, Lily and Emma, and would often take them out to dinner and to the park. Despite only raising sons, Chuck rose to the occasion of learning princess names and how to apply fake make-up for his girls. Chuck was many things to many people, but being Grandpa was his greatest role of all.

Chuck is survived by his sons, Charles (Katharina), Daniel (Paige), his granddaughters Lily Roem and Emma Katharine, his stepdaughter Audrey Ma, his siblings Grace Bentivenga Byers (Bill), Michael Bentivenga (Daryl), Christopher Bentivenga(Karen), and Salvatore Bentivenga (Susan), and his many nieces and nephews. His is predeceased by his parents Charles and Lois, and his wife Stella.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Old Bridge Funeral Home 2350 Route 516, Old Bridge, NJ on Sunday August 24, 2025 from 2-5pm. A funeral mass will be held Monday August 25, 2025 at 10 am at the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Old Bridge, NJ 133 Amboy Ave. followed by burial in Marlboro Cemetery, Marlboro, NJ.
