COLD BROOK – Jean E. Greiner, 75, of State Route 8, passed away on April 25, 2022 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Greiner was born on September 24, 1946 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Thomas and Beverly (Francisco) Anderson. She graduated from West Canada Valley Central School in 1965. On January 13, 1968, Jean was united in marriage with Daniel D. Greiner at the Newport United Methodist Church. She was last employed as an inspector and office assistant at Precision Polish, LLC, Frankfort. Jean very much enjoyed working at Precision Polish with Jeanne and Nile Williams and her whole extended family there. She was a member of the Newport United Methodist Church, where she served as financial secretary. She played an essential role in her contributions to the many church dinners and events.
Whether it was playing cards, having a cookout, or traveling, she loved her family time. She loved playing Nertz with the girls, family Bingo and game nights. She enjoyed camping at Moffitt Beach when the kids were little, and going to the family camp when the kids got bigger. She very much enjoyed her trips down south with her family and siblings, and enjoyed the walking on the beach.
Survivors besides her husband of 54 years, Daniel, include three children, Daniel (Nancy) Greiner, Jr. of Cold Brook, Jennifer (Daniel) Brelinsky of Little Falls, David (Alyssa) Greiner of Cold Brook; 16 siblings, Robert (Lee) Anderson of GA, Cheryl (Rick) Cuthburt of CO, Nancy (Glenn) Sherman of VA, Tom (Tina) Anderson of Cold Brook, Jim Anderson of FL, Mark (Jessie) Anderson of NC, Lisa (Ken) Silver of Plattsburgh, Beth Powell of NC, Claudia Anderson of Cold Book, Robert (Lila) Palmer of Newport, Gary (Sonja) Flansburg of Ilion, Brother in law Michael Martin; Dennis (Carol) Palmer of Middleville, Pat Remonda of Little Falls, Mary Palmer of Frankfort, Judy Regan of FL, and Phyllis (Tim) Lighthall of Remsen; 6 grandchildren, Danielle (Brandon) Roark of Ohio, Daniel Brelinsky Jr. (Kirsten Leon) of Mohawk, Justin Greiner (Katelyn Overacker) of Cold Brook, Jordan Brelinsky (Steven Harper) Little Falls, Jared and Peighton Greiner of Cold Brook; 3 great-grandchildren, Marlee and Brinley Roark and Rylee Brelinsky; a special nephew Thomas "Bro" Anderson III; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Thomas Anderson and Beverly Flansburg, Jean was predeceased by a step-father, Philip Flansburg; a grandson Aiden; a sister, Janet Martin; a sister in law Sharon Anderson; a brother in law, Ted Remonda; a special niece and nephew, Nicole and Matthew Anderson; and her in-laws George and Lottie Greiner.
A private memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no public services. Arrangements are entrusted to the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport.
