Jean S. Kiener

Jean S. Kiener, whose warmth and humor brightened the lives around her, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home in Gloversville, NY, at and aspiring 102 years old.
Born on December 19, 1923, in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Davis) Schreiber.
In 1950, Jean's life was beautifully intertwined with Robert J. Kiener when they wed on a wintery December 28th. They shared a love that many aspire to, full of devotion and companionship, until Robert's passing in 1996.
Jean's circle of friends was a source of immense joy and support throughout her life. She is survived by her cherished friends Mark Pettit, and Betty Twardy.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean is predeceased by her friend, Diane DuMond.
One of Jean's greatest pleasures was the simple act of watching TV and shopping with her dear friend Doris. Her fondness for cats was well known; her own feline companions were treated as members of the family and enjoyed her undying affection and care.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street Johnstown, NY, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be held in the springtime at Fern Dale Cemetery.
