Jean C. Koczur (nee Schrader); 87, caring mother and loving spirit went home to be with the Lord August 8, 2024. The youngest child of the late Henry and Theresa (May) Schrader, she is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Stanley Koczur and her daughter Beth Ann Fahey. She is survived by children from her first marriage to the late Robert E. Fahey include Bob Fahey (Celeste), Tish Kruse (Mark), Ed Fahey, Mary Cook (Jim), and Jim Fahey (Lori). Jean spent her life in the Akron area. She worked as a physician’s assistant for Dr. John Kyle for many years. After living in Ellet raising her children, Jean moved back to where she grew up in Randolph. An avid card player, she loved euchre and bridge. She was a fabulous baker and there were always “goodies” around such as apple crumb pie, cinnamon rolls, or the decadent holiday kringle. An accomplished seamstress, she created memorable dresses, coats, and Halloween costumes. She enjoyed traveling, especially motoring around the Midwest with Stanley in their Model A. She was an active member of St. Joseph Church, including volunteering for the Food Shelf.
Jean always put others before herself and worked tirelessly to care for her family. She was low key with a ready smile and laugh. God is ready for Jean at the pearly gates.
