She was born on April 7, 1936, in Big Stone Gap, VA, one of 9 children to John and Ada Carberry.
Jean married Roy Rook in 1953 in Hamilton, Ohio, then moved their family to Bradenton, FL in 1971.
Jean was predeceased by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her four children; Terri (Edward) Emley of Hayesville, NC, Pamela Jones of Myakka City, FL, Ronald (Diane) Rook of Sarasota, FL and Donald Rook of St. Petersburg, FL., four grandchildren, Robin (Frank) Butler, Jennifer (Scott Mitizak, Crystal Larson, and Larry (Kelly) Jones, ten great-grandchildren, Alexander (Courtney) Mitizak, Hunter (Luna) Butler, Logan Butler, Samantha Mitizak, Faith Butler, Paige Butler, Wyatt Larson, Cayden Jones, Landon Jones, Jake Larson and one great-great-granddaughter Elizabeth Mitizak.
A memorial service with be held on Friday Nov 14, 2025, at 10:00AM at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 5624 26th St W, Bradenton, FL 34207
