Jean R. Souffrant, age 71, passed away at Bear Mountain at Worcester Nursing Home surrounded by family on April 8, 2023. Born in Port au Prince, Haiti, he was the son of the late Gislene (Bissainte) and Andre Souffrant. He was the husband to Marie Beneche for 40 loving years. He graduated from Lycee Toussaint and went on to work as a Pharmaceutical Technician for many years. He enjoyed watching and playing soccer (in his younger age) and also enjoyed listening to his classical music. He was a devoted father, brother, and uncle, but most of all, he lived for his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jean is survived by his beloved children, Jason Souffrant,  Gerty E. Souffrant, Jean C. Souffrant, Myrlande Alcius, Woodelyn Acius, Vanessa Auguste, Farah Souffrant. Son in law Jean Ford Gornie Figaro and Daughter in law, Emma Souffrant and Celina Daveiga Rosa. He is also survived by his siblings, nieces and nephew, Marie Souffrant Gelin, Gerthy Souffrant, Ginnette Souffrant and Wilna Souffrant, Violie Perpetuelle Souffrant. Natacha Jean Louis, Barbara Duverneau, Jeff Gelin, Martine Florexile, Joana Bernard, Fabiola Taversiere, Stanley Taversiere, Gina Jean Phillipe, Marc Kenley Jean Philippe, Vladimir Jean Phillipe, Cindy Pierre, Michael Souffrant, Richard Souffrant.  

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Thursday April 20th from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Galilee SDA Church, 753 Washington St., Stoughton on Friday April 21st from 9-12PM. Interment to follow at Central Cemetery, 324 North Street, Randolph, MA 02368. Repass to follow after the cemetery at 769 Washington St. Stoughton, MA 02072.
