Jeanette M. Gabrys, age 74, passed away on May 18, 2025.
Jeanette Gabrys, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 17, 1950, in Chicago, IL, Jeanette's life was a portrait of courage, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family.
The cherished wife of James Gabrys, she embodied the spirit of partnership and devotion. Together they created an unbreakable bond and a legacy of love. Jeanette was a beloved mother to Deana Gabrys-Wetzler and Julie Knotek, who, along with son-in-law Jimmy, will forever hold her memory close. Guided by her strength and loving nature, Jeanette was an exemplary model of motherhood.
Born to Raymond and Sophie Jankowski, both of whom predeceased her, Jeanette was one of three sisters, along with Patricia (deceased) and husband Larry Rogge, and Donna and husband Bob Herbert. Her family was her pride and joy, and her absence will be profoundly felt amongst them all. She was the adored grandmother to Payton, JT, and Jordy, and her determination will continue to inspire them. Fond sister-in-law of Judy and Bill (deceased) Chessare.
Jeanette was a nurturer at heart, not just to her immediate family, but also to her many nieces, nephews, and their children. Her door and heart were always open, her home a hub of family gatherings and celebrations. Her love extended beyond kinship, touching the lives of everyone she met.
Jeanette's generosity knew no bounds, her smile a comforting constant, and her courage a silent fortitude that stood firm in the face of life's challenges.
