Jeanette Sue Miller, age 71, of Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jeanette was born on November 17, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, to Andrew and Grace Little, who preceded her in death. She was married to Jim Miller for 52 years, and together they raised two children, Josh Miller (wife Amy, daughters Hadley and Finley) and Jamie Smith (Justin Fehr, son Thomas Smith and daughter Lily Smith), who were her greatest joy.
While her children were young, Jeanette could often be found at the ball field, cheering from the sidelines or volunteering at the concession stand. She later carried this tradition into her role as a grandmother, proudly cheering on her grandchildren at football and soccer games-always one of the loudest voices of support.
A gifted seamstress, quilter, and knitter, Jeanette made her granddaughters' outfits for every holiday and birthday, and created quilts that became treasured family keepsakes. She continued sharing her talents by knitting hats and making blankets for friends' babies and grandbabies.
Jeanette was rarely still. A true crafter at heart, she could make nearly anything she put her mind to, and her home and garden reflect her creativity, filled with handmade treasures. What she loved most, however, was gifting those creations to her family and friends.
She also enjoyed a meaningful career in accounting, working in Conyers and Decatur.
Jeanette is survived by her sister, Trish Thurman (Chris); nephew Allen Taylor (Alexis); niece Penny Kennedy-Good; nine great-nieces; sister-in-law Theresa Little; niece Jennifer Scott and aunt, Pat Little. She was preceded in death by her brother Ron Little, sister-in-law Donna Miller, nephew Jason Little, and uncle Fred Little.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Appalachian Hospice for their loving care and support.
A service to celebrate Jeanette's life will be held on Saturday, October 11 at McDonald and Son Funeral Home (150 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040). Visitation begins at 2:00 pm with a service at 3:30 and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to YoungLife.

We met Jeanette and Jim along with her sister Trish and husband Chris on our Panama Canal cruise. We first met Chris on the jog walk trail on the ship then met all of them in the dining hall after going through the canal. What fun we had with all of them during the rest of our cruise. We met for meals in the dining hall and went on two excursions with them. Fun folks to become friends with and it made our cruise extra special! Jeanette was always friendly and very personable. We learned lots about her crafting and sewing hobby. Knowing that we collected magnets, Jeanette gave us a magnet of our ship which we have treasured. Since our cruise, we have enjoyed texting back and forth with Jeanette. Even though our friendship was short, we will treasure and remember our time with Jeanette. She was always smiling. We send our love and sympathy to Jim, Trish, and Chris. May our treasured memories of Jeanette live in our hearts forever. Bob and Janice Davis
